Assessment Comments
Assessment is based on (1) results of monitoring of fish, macroinvertebrates, habitat & water quality as part of the Sny Magill / Bloody Run project and (2) DNR summary of trout reproduction. Highlighted in Iowa Conservationist.
Basis for Assessment
Chemical and biological monitoring data for 1996-1997 from the NPS monitoring project were reviewed. No violations of the d.o. standard were detected. Low levels of d.o. observed in earlier monitoring have not been explained. Benthic macroinvertebrate and fish monitoring results indicate a healthy biological community and good water quality. B(CW) aquatic life use assessment was upgraded from FS/T to FS based on continued monitoring evidence of good water quality and physical habitat.
