Assessment Comments

Stream use assessment in Clayton County.

Basis for Assessment

Continued to use the assessment of support of the Class B(LR) uses developed for the 1994 report (=PS).  Follow-up monitoring is needed to determine the status of the aquatic communities and habitats and to determine the degree to which the Class B(LR) uses may be impaired.   Results of the November 1991 DNR stream use assessment show only two species captured:  red shiner [?] and fathead minnow.   The relatively high envrionmental tolerance of both these species, as well as a fish community that lacks most of the species typcial of Class B(LR) streams in this region, suggest an impairment to the aquatic life uses.
