Assessment Summary

The Class BLW use was assessed (evaluated) as "WINOFI" due to high levels of algae at this shallow lake/wetland also suggest impairment due to aesthetically objectionable conditions and due to siltation related to annual flooding by the Mississippi River. Additionally, Class BLW use was assessed (evaluated) as "WINOFI" based on results of the Class BLW criterion for pH. All other designated uses were “not assessed.” Note: This waterbody is not in Iowa's current surface water classification and is thus classified only for general uses. As such, only the general use protection for aquatic life will be assessed.
