DNR fish surveys at Backbone State Park.
Basis for Assessment
Used results of an April 1988 DNR fish survey conducted downstream from the dam of Backbone Lake to assess support of the Class B(WW) aquatic life uses as FST due to (1) presence of game fish species (smallmouth bass) and (2) presence of a very diverse fish community (20 species from 6 families) including state-threatened American Brook Lamprey and WQ-sensitive darter species (rainbow and banded). Same site sampled in April 1989, similar conditions observed.
