Assessment based on results of October 1990 IDNR stream use assessments conducted in Clay county.
Basis for Assessment
Used a review of the field sheet from the October 1990 DNR stream use assessment in Clay County to upgrade the assessment of support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses from PS to FST due to the presence of a majority of the expected fish taxa (6 of 9) for streams in the NW Iowa Loess Prairies (47a) subecoregion. The primary threats to the continued support of these uses, as indicated on the DNR field sheet, are pasturing and streambank erosion.
