1991 stream use assessment at Hwy 3 Bridge in Delaware County.
Basis for Assessment
Used a review of the field sheet from the November 1991 DNR stream use assesment to change the assessment of support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses from FST to "not assessed" due to lack of information on the aquatic communties of this stream. Notes on field sheet indicate that seining was attempted but was ineffective due to rocky substrates. Although the relatively good habitat quality-- including diverse substrates, several pool/riffle sequences, and only minor impacts to the physical characteristics of the stream-- suggest full support of the Class B(LR) uses, additional monitoring is needed to better define the status of the aquatic communties so that an accurate assessment of support of the Class B(LR) uses can be developed.
