Assessment based on the results of an October 1990 IDNR stream use assessment conducted in Clay county.
Basis for Assessment
Continued to use the assessment of support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses developed for the 1994 report (=FST). A review of the field sheet from the October 1990 DNR stream use assessment shows (1) better than average aquatic habitat quality with no theats to continued support of the aquatic life uses and (2) the presence of a majority (6 of 11) of the expected fish taxa for streams in the Des Moines Lobe (47b) subecoregion. Additional monitoring is needed to update this assessment and to better determine the status of the aquatic communities and habitats.
