Assessment based on the results of a September 1992 IDNR stream use assessment conducted in Clay county.
Basis for Assessment
Reviewed the field sheet from the September 1992 DNR stream use assessment and upgraded the assessment of support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses from FST to FS due to (1) presence of a very diverse fish community (15 species from 6 familes), (2) presence of nearly all the expected fish taxa (8 of 9) for streams of the NW Iowa Loess Prairies (47a) subecoregion, (3) better than average habitat score, with comments such as "excellent aquatic habitat" on the field sheet, with no threats to continued support of the Class B(LR) uses identified.
