Kanaranzi Creek IA 06-BSR-1547
mouth (Lyon Co.) to IA-MN state line
The presumptive Class A1 (primary contact recreation) uses are assessed (evaluated) as "partially supported" due to identification of an impairment for indicator bacteria (E. coli) in the adjacent upstream segment by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). The Class B(WW2) aquatic life uses remain "not assessed" due to the lack of information upon which to base an assessment.
Abacterial impairment of the primary contact recreation uses of the upstream segment of the Kanaranzi Creek in Minnesota was identified by MPCA in 2011. A TMDL was planned for this impairment in 2016 but at the time of this assessment no information could be found about a completed TMDL for the upstream segment.
