Assessment based on October 1989 DNR stream use assessments conducted in Lyon county.
Basis for Assessment
Continued to use the assessment of support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses developed for the 1994 report (=FST). A review of results of the October 1989 DNR fish survey 3 mi NNE of Rock Rapids shows (1) a moderately diverse fish community (13 spp., 4 fams) for streams in the NW Iowa Loess Prairies and (2) a majority of the regionally expected fish taxa (7 of 9), thus indicating that the Class B(LR) uses are FST.
