Assessment based on stream use assessment data from Ringgold county, 1986.
Basis for Assessment
Used results of DNR stream assessments conducted in 1986 SE of Clearfield to assess the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses as FST due to (1) absence of channelization impacts in the lower (Class B(LR)) reach, (2) presence of fair diversity of fish (11 species) for a SW Iowa stream (most species (7) are tolerant of high levels of suspended sediment- related turbidity). Support of uses is threatened by row crop agriculture in watershed and by pasturing of riparian zone.
