Assessment Comments

Assessment based on stream use assessments conducted in Taylor county in 1990.

Basis for Assessment

Upgraded the assessment of support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses from PS to FST due to a review of field sheets from the August 1990 DNR stream use assessments that shows a fish community that contains all of the expected taxa (6 of 6) for Class B(LR) streams in this region.   Thus, the composition of the fish community suggests that the Class B(LR) uses are fully supported.   The primary threat to continued suppport of these uses, as noted during the August 1990 stream assessments, is streambank erosion.   The information upon which this assessment is based is more than 5 years old.  Additional monitoring is needed to update the assessment and to determine that status of the aquatic communities and habitats of this stream.
