Assessment Comments
Assessment is based on results of IDNR/UHL biological (biocriteria) monitoring in 1997: FIBI = 23 (poor), BMIBI = 57 (good). FIBI BIC = 33, BMIBI BIC = 41.
Basis for Assessment
SUMMARY: The Class B(LR) aquatic life uses are assessed (evaluated) as "partially supported" based on results of IDNR/UHL biological (biocriteria) sampling in 1997. This is the same assessment as that developed for the 2004 reporting cycle but now the data are old enough for this assessment to be considered evaluated.
EXPLANATION: This assessment was based on the 1997 biological assessment data conducted in Lucas Co. approximately six miles south of Lacona. The FIBI score was 23 (poor), and the BMIBI score was 57 (good). The aquatic life use support status was assessed (evaluated) as partially supporting (=PS), based on a comparison of the FIBI and BMIBI scores with biological impairment criteria (BIC) established from a statistical analysis of data collected at stream ecoregion reference sites from 1994-2004. The FIBI BIC for this ecoregion is 33 and the BMIBI BIC for this ecoregion is 41.
