Basis for Assessment

Continued to use the assessments of support of the Class A primary contact recreation uses and the Class B(LW) aquatic life uses developed for the 1994 report (both=FS).   These assessments were reviewed and approved by the DNR Fisheries Bureau.   Results of the 1997 DNR/U.S.  EPA RAFT fish contaminant monitoring program showed that levels of the relatively few contaminants detected in the composite samples of fillets from channel catfish and largemouth bass were well below 1/2 of the respective FDA action levels and DNR levels of concern.   Thus, assess support of the fish consumption uses as "fully supported."
