Assessment Comments

Assessment is based on results of IDNR/UHL biological (biocriteria) monitoring in 1998: Fish IBI= 19(poor), BM-IBI= 44(fair).

Basis for Assessment

SUMMARY:  The Class B(LR) aquatic life uses remain assessed (monitored) as "not supported"  based on results of IDNR/UHL biological (biocriteria) sampling in 1998.   This is the same assessment as that developed for the 2002 reporting cycle.

EXPLANATION:  The assessment was based on the 1998 IDNR/UHL biological assessment data (see 2000 assessment comments), and the aquatic life use support continued to be assessed as not supporting (=NS), based on a comparison of the F-IBI and BM-IBI scores with biological assessment criteria established specifically for the 2002 Section 305(b) report.   The F-IBI score was 19 (poor) and the BM-IBI score was 44 (fair).   The biological assessment criteria were determined from a statistical analysis of data collected at stream ecoregion reference sites from 1994-2001.
