Assessment based on data from Adams County Three Lakes Water Quality Project.

Basis for Assessment

Used information in the "Adams County Three Lakes Water Quality Project" application submitted to DNR in March 1996 to assess support of the Class B(LW) aquatic life and Class C (drinking water) uses.   Lake supplies approx.  30% of drinking water for city of Corning.   Application describes the nonpoint source impacts to this lake and the other lakes involved in the application (Icaria and Binder).   Application has limited information but suggests that both the lake is primarily impacted by sediment eroded from the watershed.   No mention is made of known impairments to drinking water uses.  Thus, assess support of aquatic life uses as PS due to sedimentation, and assess support of the drinking water uses as FST.
