Assessment Comments

Stream use assessment in August 1990.

Basis for Assessment

Continue to use the assessment of support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses developed for the 1994 report (=FST).   A review of the field sheet from the August 1990 DNR stream use assessment shows that a majority of the expected fish taxa (5 of 8) for streams in the Central Irregular Plains (40) ecoregion were present.   The data upon which this assessment is based are over 5 years old.  Additional monitoring is needed to update the assessment and to better determine the status of the aquatic communities and habitats.   The field sheet from the 1990 stream use assessment indicates that frequent channel straightening and frequent stream bank erosion are the primary threats to the continued support of the Class B(LR) uses.
