Three stream use assessments in July 1991.

Basis for Assessment

Used a review of the field sheets from the three DNR stream use assessments in July 1991 to upgrade the assessment of support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses from PS to FST due to (1) presence of relatively diverse fish communities for streams of the Central Irregular Plains (40) ecoregion (dstr->upstr:  7 species/3 families; 14 species/ 4 families; 13 species/4 families), (2) presence of a majority of the expected fish taxa for streams of this ecoregion (dstr-> upstr:  5 of 8; 7 of 8; 7 of 8), and average to above average habitat scores at two of the three locations assessed.   The field sheets from the 1991 stream use assessments suggest that stream bank erosion and sedimentation are the primary threats to the continued support of the Class B(LR) uses.
