Assessment Comments
Stream use assessment in 1991.
Basis for Assessment
Continue to use the assessment of support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses developed for the 1996 report (=FST). The DNR stream use assessment was conducted in early March of 1991; thus, results of fish sampling are suspect. The diversity of the fish community sampled (2 species from 2 families) is well-below the diversity and number of fish taxa expected for streams in the Central Irregular Plains (40) ecoregion. According to notes on the field sheet for this assessment, deep water also hindered fish sampling. Additional biological monitoring is needed to update this assessment and to determine the status of the aquatic communities and habitats. No significant threats to the continued support of the Class B(LR) uses were identified on the field sheet
