Basis for Assessment
Stream assessment form indicates above average habitat quality for a small stream in this region. A diversity of substrate types and several pool/riffle sequences observed. Good riparian conditions noted. Stream is somewhat typical of many small, direct tribs of the Des Moines River which have deeply incised valleys with timber valley slopes and riparia. Moderately diverse fish community observed.
