Assessment Comments

Assessment is based on results of IDNR ambient monthly monitoring south of Humboldt.

Basis for Assessment

SUMMARY:  The Class B(WW) aquatic life uses are assessed as "fully supported."  Fish consumption uses are "not assessed."  This assessment is based on results of IDNR monthly ambient monitoring approximately two miles south of Humboldt (station 10460001 (formerly station 444061)).   EXPLANATION:  Monitoring at the IDNR station south of Humboldt showed no violations of Class B(WW) water quality criteria during the 2000-2001 biennial period for dissolved oxygen, pH, or ammonia-nitrogen in the 24 samples analyzed, for toxic metals in the 4 samples analyzed, and for pesticides in the six samples analyzed.   These results suggest "full support" of the Class B(WW) aquatic life uses.   Fish consumption uses were "not assessed" due to the lack of recent fish contaminant monitoring in this river segment.
