Assessment Comments

1990 stream use assessment in Jackson County.

Basis for Assessment

Used results of the August 1990 DNR stream uase assessment to assess support of the Class B(LR) aquatic life uses as FST due to (1) habitat score (26) better than the overall median score (22) for DNR stream use assessments and (2) indications on field sheet of very diverse substrates, numerous pool/riffle sequences, only isolated channel alterations (pasturing), and relatively stable stream banks.  Very few fish species collected due to difficulty of seining in rocky habitats.  Field sheet suggests that the continued support of the aquatic life uses is threatened by pasturing of the riparian zone.
