Assessment Summary

The Class A1 use remains assessed as “not supported” due to violations of Iowa water quality criteria for indicator bacteria (E. coli). The Class BWW1 use was assessed as "fully supported" based on biological sampling data. The Class HH use remains assessed as "fully supported" based on fish tissue sampling data. This segment was historically assigned both the Class A1 and Class A2 contact uses. However, based on a review of the Iowa Surface Water Classification Document, this ADBNet Segment (121) is a combination of two segments in the SWC document with one segment having the A1 use and the other having the A2 use. Rather than assigning both the A1 and the A2 uses to the combined ADBNet Segment, DNR has chosen to assign the highest use (A1) to the entire combined segment (121). The Class A2 designated use will be removed from this segment prior to the 2024 IR cycle.
