Assessment Comments

1990 stream use assessment in Jackson County.

Basis for Assessment

Used results of the August 1990 DNR stream use assessment near the mouth of Tetes Des Morts to assess support of the Class B(WW) aquatic life uses as FST due to habitat score (28) much better than the overall median score (22) for DNR stream use assessments (although this relatively high score is primarily due to high scores for low- flow characteristics due to backwater effect from Mississippi River).   Sampling of fish species was ineffective due to difficulty of seining deep water; only 4 species captured.
