Stream use assessment and a 1988 fish survey conducted by IDNR.
Basis for Assessment
Used results of the October 1990 DNR stream use assesment NW of Coon Rapids, and the June 1988 fish survey SE of Coon Rapids, to assess support of the Class B(WW) aquatic life uses as FST due to presence of a moderately diverse fish community (12 species from 4 families) that includes good population of channel catfish. At survey location SE of Coon Rapids, river flows through a series of riffles with a variety of substrate sizes and current velocities. No information for assessing support of the Class A (primary contact recreation) uses.
