Fish survey conducted in June 1988.
Basis for Assessment
Used results of a June 1988 fish survey conducted by DNR staff (Olson and Howell) at Nations Bridge County Park approx. 4.5 miles N of Stuart to assess support of the Class B(WW) aquatic life uses as FST due to (1) presence of relatively diverse fish community (16 species from 5 familes), (2) large population of channel catfish with many from 8-10" TL and several at 2 lbs, (3) presence of above average habitat at this location including long riffle with side pools. Survey was conducted at the beginning of a drought period in 1988 and 1989; flows in most streams were very low during this survey of streams in Guthrie and Adair counties.
