Assessment Comments

Stream use assessment.

Basis for Assessment

Stream assessment form indicates fairly good habitat quality for a small stream in this region.   Abundant coarse substrate of glacial origin observed.   Stream is generally meandering.  Impacts from past pasture use along the stream are evident.  Stream channel is generally wide and shallow.   Groundwater input from spring/seeps is suspected.   Wetland/seeps observed along the stream.   Fair diversity of fish species observed including a rare recent collection of southern redbelly dace in the Des Moines River basin.
