Assessment Comments

Stream use assessment.

Basis for Assessment

Stream assessment form indicates good habitat quality despite frequent pasture use impacts along the stream.   Good pool habitat observed in reach assessed.   Boulders and woody debris snags enhanced habitat quality.   Occasional riffles observed.  Large pool was too deep and wide to electrofish effectively.  Good diversity of fish were observed representing several trophic and habitat niches.   Farmer at site indicated area is fished for catfish.   Aquatic community in B(LR) and B(WW) segments are threatened by sediment load and extensive channelization of E.  and W.  Cedar creeks; also threatened by overpasturing of riparian corridor.
