Basis for Assessment
6 of 10 samples collected at approx. average flows had levels of fecal coliforms that exceeded the Class A WQC (60% violation = NS). Class C use was assessed as NS due to frequent DW advisories issued by city of Des Moines due to high levels of nitrate in river (21 of 76 samples contained NO3 > 10 mg/l). No violations of Class B WQC (=FST).
