Assessment Comments

Assessment is based on (1) surveys of DNR Fisheries Bureau, (2)lake monitoring data, and (3) results of fish tissue (RAFT) monitoring in 1997.

Basis for Assessment

Continued to use the assessment developed for the 1994 report (=FST).   Comments from the DNR Fisheries Bureau suggest that water quality may be improving due to construction of new sedimentation pond and due to state control of most of the watershed of this lake.   Results of the 1997 DNR/U.S.  EPA "RAFT" fish contaminant monitoring program showed that levels of the relatively few contaminants detected in the composite sample of fillets from largemouth bass were well below 1/2 of the respective FDA action levels and the DNR levels of concern for other fish contaminants.   Thus, assess support of the fish consumption uses as "fully supporting."
