Albia City Reservoir IA 04-LDM-1047
Monroe County S9T72NR17W at Albia
Assessment Comments
None of this lake's designated uses were assessed for the 2002 report.
Basis for Assessment
SUMMARY: None of the beneficial designated uses for this lake [Class A (primary contact recreation), Class B(LW) aquatic life, and Class C (drinking water)] uses were assessed. EXPLANATION: The Class A, Class B(LW), and fish consumption uses remain "not assessed" due to a lack of water quality information for this lake. The support of Class C (drinking water) uses was changed from "fully supported / threatened" to "not assessed" due to the lack of recent data upon which to base this assessment. The previous assessment of support of the Class C (drinking water) uses was based on results of monitoring in 1995 (see assessment for the 2000 report above). These data are now considered too old (greater than five years) for characterizing current water quality conditions. The city of Albia switched to the Rathbun Rural Water network in January 2000; thus, the Albia City Reservoir was dropped from Syngenta's "Iowa Voluntary Atrazine Monitoring Program." The Syngenta data for 1999 are only for finished water (time-weighted annual mean of 0.08 ug/l).
