Donations

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources creates recreational opportunities for Iowans, cares for state parks and forests, and manages wildlife and fish populations for future generations. The DNR does this in partnership with many organizations and individuals. You can help make a difference.

Bit Trees program

Big Trees Program

The main purpose of the big tree program is to reduce the unnecessary loss of Iowa big trees. If the owners of a champion tree or a tree close to champion size know their tree is significant, they are more likely to preserve the tree. If more Iowans become interested in the biggest trees they would become passionate about preserving trees and planting future champion trees. After all, even the biggest champion trees started out as seedlings.

Please consider donating now to help preserve and plant big trees in Iowa.
