Basis for Assessment
Continued to assess support of the Class B(WW) aquatic life uses as FST based on (1) 1994 WQ studies related to development of hydropower at the Greene milldam that showed adequate levels of dissolved oxygen in the impoundment and in the river downstream from the dam and (2) assessment developed for the 1996 report. In addition, the March/April 1998 Iowa Conservationist identifies the reach from Shell Rock to Greene as having "excellent numbers of 12 to 17-inch" smallmouth bass.
